The Escort ZR6 laser shifting heads are significantly smaller in size in comparison to Escort's previous models.
Smaller heads allow for easier mounting in tight spaces making for more discrete superior installation.
Supports up to six shifters (three optional for rear protection)
While the Escort ZR6 comes with three heads for the front, the system supports the addition of two additional VX tranceivers and one additional VX transmitter for rear protection.
These optional additional heads are available separately.
How the Escort ZR6 laser shifter works
The Escort ZR6 comes equipped with three high performance very small laser transceivers that mount in the grill area of your car or truck.
Once a police laser threat is detected, their Infrared diodes will light up, jamming the police officers laser gun while also alerting you of the threat with both an audible and visual alert.
While the laser jammer is activated, you will have time to check and adjust your speed accordingly.
Once your laser jammer is activated and you have adjusted your speed, it is advisable to deactivate the jammer either manually or automatically through it’s software, so the officer can capture your speed (while you're doing the speed limit).
Software Upgradable
You can update your ZR6 online using your PC, so your jammer is always up-to-date against the latest police laser guns..
Installation
Typical install time for a do-it-yourself install is about an hour, and you will be guided through the entire process using the enclosed step-by-step instructions.
If you don’t feel comfortable doing the install yourself, I would then contact your local Best Buy store that has a 12-volt install department or any other mobile electronics installer.
Installation prices vary by location and the type of vehicle.

Laws
Laser is regulated by the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) and not the FCC. There are currently no federal laws prohibiting the use of this device on a passenger vehicle.
However, there are currently 12 states in the USA that do outlaw the use of laser jamming devices, they are: South Carolina, Nebraska, Minnesota, Utah, California, Oklahoma, Virginia, Colorado, Illinois, Texas, Tennessee and Washington DC.
Therefore, if you do drive in these areas it’s advisable to program your device as a receiver only or to automatically shut off once activated.
