This has easily been the best detector Ive ever owned. Ive had them all from Valentine 1s to Rocky Mountain Scramblers (They dont actually scramble anything) and this Cobra is by far the one I put my trust in. As with any radar detector you cant just haul ass and think youll have enough time to slow down when they bang you with laser, no matter what brand, as soon as it alerts you for laser you’re caught. So, my advice is don’t speed excessively when youre the ONLY car on the road, only speed when there are other vehicles around and hopefully youll catch the laser bouncing off someone else. That being said, it will alert you to K, Ka, X and any of the others beside laser with ample time to slow down before they actually can id you. I dont come across “instant on†too much so I cant speak to it, but it seems to me like that would follow the same principles as laser. Its a great detector!!
