it does not allow for horizontal mounting. the angle of the windshield is steeper than the mount can be adjusted for so the radar detector is aimed slightly up rather than horizontal. it probably doesn't affect the detectors sensitivity but it's annoying it doesn't look good. would probably work good for a truck windshield but not in either of my cars.
